"A Nostalgic Trip to Wendy’s in Eatontown: Close to Perfect with Just a Dash of Quirky So, I found myself sitting in a Wendy’s in Eatontown, chowing down on a plain baked potato with sour cream and a small chili—classic comfort food. Naturally, I had to pair it with a Frosty, because, well, some traditions should never die. As I sat there, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of a busy lunchtime, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic. You see, I used to work at Wendy’s about 40 years ago in Florida, back when the chili was meatier, the floors were spotless, and the Frosty machines were a little less… temperamental. First off, hats off to the staff here. Donna, the first customer service hero who greeted me, was as efficient and friendly as you could ask for. Del, the shift manager, was also doing a stellar job keeping everything running smoothly. It’s clear the team at this Wendy’s takes customer service seriously. Every order was handled with care, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear the guy behind the counter was my long-lost brother—friendly face and all. Now, let’s talk chili. The taste? Spot on. Just the right amount of spice and warmth to make you feel like you’re getting a hug from the inside. But, I noticed it was a bit more watery and had less meat than the chili I used to whip up back in the day. I get it—corporate decisions and all—but maybe a tiny nudge towards that original hearty recipe would make it even better. The baked potato was exactly what you’d expect from Wendy’s, which is to say, comforting in its simplicity. No frills, just a good, solid baked potato. And the Frosty? Well, we had a bit of a saga with that. I was all set for their new signature Triple Berry Frosty—ready to indulge in a burst of berry goodness. But, when it arrived, it was just a plain white Frosty, berryness in sight. It took about 15 minutes, but they eventually got it right. When the real Triple Berry Frosty finally arrived, it was exactly what I expected—delicious and full of that berry flavor. So, all was forgiven, but a smoother rollout of their new flavors would go a long way. Now, onto the dining area floor. It was clean and well-maintained, which is always a relief. However, I did notice a couple of wet spots. Being the vigilant (and slightly clumsy) person I am, I mentioned it to Donna. To her credit, she was already on top of it. She promptly addressed the issue, making the floor safe and dry for everyone. It’s little things like this that show the staff’s commitment to maintaining a high standard, but a bit more vigilance in preventing these minor hiccups would elevate the experience even further. All in all, my visit to Wendy’s in Eatontown was a delightful blend of nostalgia and modern-day fast food goodness. The staff, led by Del, was top-notch, the food was comforting, and the atmosphere was friendly. With just a few tweaks—maybe a meatier chili and a smoother rollout of new Frosty flavors—this place would be an absolute gem. I left satisfied, full, and with a smile on my face, which is really all you can ask for."
"I was having a bad day and coming to this Wendy’s changed everything. The cashier was as kind and friendly as a person can be, and used regulars by their names for pickup regulars. The same person came by and did a quality check on how everything was. Her authenticity was so refreshing. In addition to the amazing service, the food was perfect and the place was spotless."
"This review is for Delove (pronouced Del-oh-vee) in the drive-thru. This man was so professional and polite. This was just before 8:30 this morning. He greeted me with a smile when i pulled around to pay. He was upbeat and friendly and it was authentic! This kind of experience may not mean anything to anyone else, but my interaction with this kind employee, made my day! You never know who NEEDES this kind of kindness. Thank you!!!"
"Donna is a great employee. She remembers everyone an orders are perfect. The food is done just right an the service is great. I always go in because I hate drive thru s. Tomi Owens"
"Beautiful atmosphere to dine here, they have an al fresco dining! Drive thru available. Inside interior is neat as well. High chairs available. Has a restroom. See images for reference."
"Newer Wendy's so fresher food. Also can't beat the $5 meals for value..."
"The drive thru was slammed and the next shift didn’t show up. Although there was some confusion with some orders the team handled it well. No one complained. The manager on duty made sure everyone had fresh food even the remakes. She made sure the orders were correct and handled every situation professionally and the team who had to stay over followed her lead well. Even when she had to shift them around from the line to taking orders so she could get the orders out. All awhile making sure the customers were served well that walked in as I did."
"The woman who took my order tonight was super nice and courteous. Professional and didn’t make me feel like I had to rush to place my order. Even when I made a mistake she was patient and even gave me a recommendation. I appreciate all of this when it comes to fast food and this level of service is rare to see in that industry. That service would keep me coming back. The food was good not the best but not bad either. The swirl lacks flavor. Dairy Queen ice cream has more flavor and that says a lot. The fries were not crispy to taste. Nugget, burger and chicken sandwich was okay not bad. All in all compare to the other Wendy’s in the area I would come back to this one and try again"
